How our Houston 24-hour Substance Use Disorder Sobering Center Works

When a law enforcement professional in Houston takes a publicly intoxicated person into custody, they may be brought to our 24-hour substance use disorder sobering center instead of going to jail.

At our substance use disorder sobering center in Houston, these clients can get the short-term help they need by staying in a safe, comfortable facility. They gain access to an area where they are out of harm’s way, both for themselves and the community. This short-term care is not all we offer, though. We also provide long-term programs that:

  • Offer peer support from others who have “been there” and can relate to our clients
  • Connect clients with local resources, including housing, mental health and physical health support
  • Provide up to 18 months of post-sobriety assistance.

At the Houston Recovery Center, we understand that someone’s first few hours at a 24-hour substance use disorder and sobering center could be their first step in recovery. That’s why we have a support system in place for those in need of an effective substance-abuse treatment program. Want to know how you can help our efforts or tour our facilities?
