What You Can DoEvery contribution counts. We appreciate your support.
In the face of multiple relapses and setbacks, Dorothy maintained contact with her PART team and made substantial progress in many aspects of her life. Like many others, she was homeless and without a job, she had little faith in her ability to change, and her relationship with her parents was frayed. With the support of her PART team, she learned from her relapses and weathered an unsuccessful housing placement. She repaired her relationship with her father, and though it was tougher to repair her relationship with her mother, she worked hard to do so. During her second housing placement, she found a job where she excelled, enabling her to move into her own apartment. Just as her self-confidence began to grow, she tragically lost her father. Though the loss shook her, she did not relapse, and she now speaks regularly with her mother. Recently, she moved into a new phase of her life in recovery as she decided to pursue a master’s degree.
