Providing our Communities with Substance Abuse Programs for High-Need, High-Cost Individuals

Some of these chronic issues are related to substance abuse and mental illness, making high-need, high-cost community care coordination an important way to reduce the cost of healthcare services. The Houston Recovery Center addresses this in a few ways.

  • For starters, the primary function of our facility is to house intoxicated men and women so they can sober up in a safe environment with the proper supervision. They come to us rather than occupying an emergency room bed, where they would be utilizing space needed for emergency services. This service alone helps with substance abuse community care coordination programs as it preserves medical resources in local communities.
  • Also, the Houston Recovery Center offers long-term addiction treatment. For the men and women who are willing to receive such treatment, we coordinate with local resources that are capable of delivering detox, treatment, and sober housing services. It’s our goal to promote permanent rehabilitation, in line with the goals of high-needs, high-cost substance abuse programs.

High-need, high-cost community care coordination, when executed effectively, can benefit the community as a whole. The Houston Recovery Center not only wants to provide the needed help for intoxicated men and women, but we want to improve the community altogether.
