In our society, we don’t talk about how personal factors influence the impact of alcohol consumption. Most people admitted to our sobering center tell us they had no idea they were drinking “that much”. Impairment occurs differently for each person.
We hope these charts help you understand your “personal benchmark for impairment.” And that periodic consumption of a high volume of alcohol (binge drinking) is actually quite hard on the internal organs and can lead to behavior that is harmful to self and others.
A rule of thumb easy to remember: One standard drink per hour.
